"Good Sleep Is Essential To Managing Stress"
"Unmanaged Stress Disrupts Sleep"
"Waking Refreshed Means Sleep Was Good!"
Our Point of View
When the amount of information that your brain is processing from sensory input exceeds your brain’s capacity to manage, the information overload activates the brain’s concern over its own well-being. The concern / worry / anxiety increases the amount of mental energy usage, to the point where the brain’s energy reserves start to run low. You will recognize this low energy status because you will begin to experience mental fatigue. The sensory overload causes the stress response of the nervous system to kick in for longer periods than desireable. This stress response interferes with good sleep performance. Poor sleep is also a stressor, so it triggers a negative cycle of stress response and poor sleep. Agitation, irritability and mood swings generally follow the mental fatigue.
Our Lesson Plan
Tutor these sensory sensitive brains to learn to be efficient during the day and the brains will build up the mental energy reserves necessary to support good quality sleep performance. Neurofeedback is an assistive technology process that can teach these brains to function efficiently. As they begin to learn to use mental energy wisely, they begin to sleep better and soon discover more ability to stay focused and perform more effectively and successfully. Stress management improves and sensory loading becomes more readily available!
